"The Watson Town Basic School Mission of Hope"
The Watson Town basic school is located in Dumpries, St James Jamaica a small rural and poor town about 45 mins outside of Montego Bay. There is one bad road that leads to the school passing one market and one pub along the way.The school sits at the end of the road, on property donated by the Hampden Estates in the middle of the sugar cane fields. The founders of the school are Mr and Mrs Kingsley Spence who are retired "returning residents".When the Spences returned to Jamaica they noticed that the children in the community were not in school,and idle during the day. Being educated themselves and very strong willed, they decided to start a school. The Spences continue there mission to provide an education to the children of Watson Town, and empower students to achieve. They feel that students can rise above any circumstance with an education as there tool. Their motto is "Young Minds are Power."
